  • Orygen – Kerryn Pennell

We worked with Hackett Films first in early 2014, when we asked them to assist us to rebrand our entity in 10 days (!!), they bought an amazing level of creativity, energy and dynamism to the task and were able to provide us with a great range of options, but most importantly they took our complex business and created a brand identity, a brand narrative and a brand marque that represented all we do. We have been particularly delighted with the collaborative and iterative approach the team at Hackett have taken to working with us, and we have loved the new ideas they have introduced that have challenged us to think about how we expand our brand. As a result we asked the Hackett Team to extend the work on our brand to include animation, audio signatures and are now working with them to extend the brand collateral and concept to our digital media platforms. They have been able to realise our vision, but have done this within our budget parameters! This team represents excellence in creativity and innovation, they are industry leaders… oh, and they are a lot of fun to work with too!

  • Bloke — Mike O’Rourke

Hackett Films are fantastic at turning raw concepts in to reality. They worked really closely with us at BLOKE to turn a character idea we had for the Maritime Museum in to a fully realised TVC and they added so much to the process along the way. Nothing is ever too much for James, Sarah and the team and they always go the extra mile.

  • Klepac Publishing – Ariana Klepac

In 2010 I came up with an idea for a humorous kids’ science book, How to Make a Planet (packaged by Ariana Klepac Publishing for Weldon Owen). Normally I go down the traditional route and use children’s book illustrators. But this time I wanted to use an animator who would create characters for the book with real personality and charm, to give the book more energy and edge. I asked a colleague in TV: “If I wanted Pixar in Australia, where would I go?”, and Hackett Films was suggested. From the very first meeting I knew I’d come to the right place. James Hackett and Jean Camden listened carefully to the brief and also added their own insightful creative suggestions. The result was the creation of three super-cute characters for the book (and its sequel, How to Make a Human), both of which are already being translated into seven languages, and the second book isn’t even printed yet! I hope to do a lot more business with Hackett Films; they are a delight to work with.

  • If Awards – Annie Parnell

We worked with Hackett Films in 2011 for the first time on the 13th annual IF Awards broadcast and were delighted with the results for the motion graphics on screen at the event and for the broadcast. We would definitely work with Hackett Films again, they are a great team, brimming with good ideas.

  • Mememe Productions – Cate McQuillen & Hewey Eustace

Bringing vision, expertise and a highly skilled, passionate team to the table. Hackett Films are a professional and innovative studio. They were able to collaborate and successfully navigate the inherent challenges of co-production to create the unique design that is 'dirtgirlworld', a 52 x 11 minute, groundbreaking preschool series.

  • Zapruder’s Other Films – Andrew Denton

I have worked with Hackett Films for over 7 years and, in particular, on three highly successful television projects: Enough Rope (ABC TV), The Gruen Transfer (ABC TV) and 30 seconds (Comedy Channel). Having had the good fortune to collaborate with many excellent creative professionals over this time, I would have to put Hackett Films at the top of that list. The combination of talents they bring to the table - highly original thinking, a deep sense of commitment to making ideas work within sometimes limited resources, and an unblemished record of delivering on time and at the highest possible standard - makes them, in my view, the gold standard of creative companies in Australian television.
